First Piano Recital Part 2

This year's recital events:
Prize table - probably the highlight for my students as they were able to spend the music money that they worked hard to earn all year. I am grateful for the parents and older students that volunteered to run the prize table and survived the stampede of students...re-thinking the structure for next year, perhaps more store-like with a couple shopping tables and a check out table? 
Snacks - did some of the audience come for the promise of some food? Possibly, but they sure enjoyed the whole recital too.
Awards - I do awards at the end of the year to recognize the hard work of a few students. You won't see any participation trophies coming out of my studio, if you want to compete for an award you have to come out top. 
Favorite things poster - I had my students write their favorite thing about piano lessons this year on a poster

The start of a tradition... hanging on my studio wall and looking forward to collecting these over the years.

Music Table - this table also proved to be popular. I had students and parents asking for music to learn over the summer so instead of trying to keep track of who wanted what and having options for those who didn't know what they wanted, I just hauled a collection of music and my printer over so the kids could pick what they wanted. The most wanted songs... the evening's recital pieces. ​
