This June I held my second annual piano recital. This year end recital is our big celebration of the year, students invite as many guests as they want, they perform a piece they have spent several weeks working on, awards are handed out, music money is spent and a potluck reception with lots of delicious food is enjoyed.
A huge thank you to all the parents who helped out with setting up chairs, organized the food, braved the music money store, and helped with take down and clean up! I also had 4 families with their own businesses who sponsored the recital. Their information is at the bottom of the post.

This student received the proficiency award - each student receives a sticker chart at the beginning of the year with a number of categories to earn stickers. The student who earns the most stickers gets this award.
Practice award: Certificate - practiced 3000+ minutes in the year. Trophy - practiced 4000+ minutes in the year
Pirate's Treasure award - students received task cards throughout the year. Upon the completion of each card they got to pick a prize out of the treasure chest. These students beat the pirate by opening all six treasure chests.
Performance award: These students attended studio performance opportunities and played of their own initiative in other school and community events outside the studio.
